The Senate of the University of Murcia has awarded the title of doctor honoris causa to the Administrative Ramón Martín Mateo, who was rector of the universities of the Basque Country and Alicante, and the Brazilian mathematician Manfredo do Carmo.
Professor Martin Matthew, who is Professor of Administrative Law, has been a member of the National Water Council, member of the Committee on the Environment Council of Chambers of Commerce and director of the Institute of Water and Environmental Sciences.
For his part, Professor Do Carmo was one of the first Brazilian mathematicians devoted to research in differential geometry in his country and since 1966 a researcher at the National Institute of Pure and Applied Mathematics.
