Cristina Garmendia, Minister for Science and Innovation, visit tomorrow, Day 11, 11:00 pm, the Center Pilot Project Experimental Portman (The Union), in which a research group at the University of Murcia working on recovery of the bay.
The team, led by the teachers Maria Jose Martinez Sanchez and Carmen Pérez Sirvent, provides the knowledge base necessary to successfully address the rehabilitation of contaminated land in this coastal area, which is being implemented by the Ministry of Environment and Rural and Marine Affairs.
The work developed by the team at the University of Murcia is a clear example of R & D, in which applied research has enabled an optimal and a transfer of results to the productive sectors.
These studies will allow a balance between environmental compliance, lower consumption of natural resources and economic development of the recovery project, which has accumulated savings of more than 40 million euros over its initial budget.
