The University of Murcia has contributed a total of six scientific services for the implementation of the Research Institute of Biosciences Murciano (IMIB), which has been developed jointly with the Autonomous Community, the Foundation for Health Research and Training and Polytechnic University Cartagena.
The agreement signed by the organizations that join forces for the implementation of IMIB shown to be major objectives of the development of general services for better utilization of resources and enhance basic and clinical research in biomedicine.
It will also enhance the relationship between scientific groups belonging to the signers and other partner institutions in the biomedical field.
The center will have a governing board, a director, an External Scientific Committee and other domestic as well as a Board of Governors.
The University of Murcia offers the Institute of Image Analysis Service, the Department of Laboratory Animal and Molecular Biology, together with the Tissue Culture, among others.
For its part, the delivery Cartagena Polytechnic Institute of Plant Biotechnology and Agricultural and Food Experimental Station "Thomas Ferro," among other services.
The contribution of the Autonomous Region will be conducted through contributions from the ministries of Health and Universities, Business and Research.
