The socialist candidate for mayor of Murcia, Pedro López, has proposed this morning to establish, together with financial institutions and by the City Council appropriate guarantees, bridge loans to defer payment of the mortgage on those citizens who have lost their jobs and are in a bad economic and social situation.
Pedro Lopez, who today visited the soup kitchen for Jesus Forsaken, accompanied by members of his candidacy, praised the work of this foundation, in 2010, served a total of 3,906 people delivering almost 120,000 meals.
Lopez noted that municipalities have to be sensitive, especially those who are suffering, for what has been undertaken to find ways to help financial institutions prevent people having to leave their residence for non-payment .
"Like other great works government guarantee, the Council can play its role as a guarantor for small things, but just as important as that a family is not thrown out of his house."
Strategic Plan against social exclusion
In addition, the candidate has advanced to the PSOE in its election manifesto pose a strategic plan for the homeless that includes both prevention for people at risk of exclusion as a process of social inclusion and employment.
