The International Festival of Youth Orchestras of Murcia, FIOJ, organized by the University of Murcia, reaches its thirtieth edition with the organization of 25 concerts and recitals performed by 13 orchestras and ensembles invited.
During the week of 11 to 16 April, the festival will gather in the Region of Murcia more than 700 young musicians from Norway, Sweden, Czech Republic, Sevilla, Valencia, Alicante, Murcia, Lorca and Cartagena.
The woodwind quintet Xylos, the prestigious Barenboim-Said Foundation, will be in charge of the concert that opened the XXX International Festival of Youth Orchestras on 11 April in the church of San Lorenzo at 20.30 hours .
The fundamental principle of the Barenboim-Said Foundation is to integrate music in society, a goal that has been equally currency for each of the editions of this festival since its inauguration.
During the week of the event, various sites in the region, will host auditions in which participants will offer viewers bands, schoolchildren and pedestrians, small concerts.
The hearings are one of the attractions of a festival that has always been known for promoting coexistence between Murcia and young musicians from different backgrounds.
