The host University of Murcia, on the 8th April to 10th April, the national final of the XXII edition of the Spanish in Physics Olympiad, an event that has been underway since 1990 and has had as host cities such as Salamanca, Valencia, Madrid and Granada.
The initiative is promoted by the Ministry of Education through the Royal Spanish Physical Society.
Physics Olympiad in 2011 focus on our region to 136 high school students selected among the brightest from around the country, from the winners to compete in the international final to be held in Thailand.
The inauguration was held at the University Social Centre on Friday April 8, at 9'15 pm, chaired by the Vice Chancellor of University Extension, Francisco Guillermo Díaz Baños, tests later celebrated in the School of Chemistry, Campus de Espinardo.
The closing session and awards ceremony will take place on Sunday 10 April in the Auditorium of the University of Murcia, Campus de la Merced, at 10:30 pm and is payable by the Rector José Antonio Cobacho.
Spanish Physics Olympiad reflects the tradition of other countries like England or America.
This is an annual competition for high school students that aims to promote physics education and provide a meeting point for students and teachers, trying to discover and encourage the brightest high school students in the moments before his entry into the university.
