Stopped the author of three violations in Murcia (01/04/2011)

The analysis of biological samples of the author, included in the scene, was key to charge the arrested the three actions

National Police agents have arrested a Moroccan man and 20 years old, responsible for three counts of rape, committed between 19 December 2010 and January 6, 2011, in the vicinity of the area Leisure Mall next to the Watchtowers, Murcia.

The research that has led to the arrest began after becoming aware of the first of these attacks, which took place on December 16 last year, when a 30-year-old was sexually assaulted by a young man in his twenties of age when he was attacked inside his vehicle.

Subsequently, on December 31 and January 6 were carried out two further attacks committed by a person whose description and modus operandi, typical for the brutality of his actions and the use of sharp objects, in line with those employed by the author of the first violation.

Based on these similarities, the researchers developed a profile of the perpetrator, while they worked in two other areas of research: one based on biological samples collected at the scene and a third consisting of monitoring some objects stolen from the victims during the attacks.

The efforts carried out allowed to locate the stolen phone to one of the victims.

However, given that it was in the hands of a young man who looked nothing like the profile you were working the researchers, further progress was to identify the person who had sold the phone to the current holder thereof, proving that it was a Moroccan man 20 years of age whose physical features themselves responding faithfully to the description of the perpetrator.

On January 25 we proceeded to the arrest of this subject, which was made available to the trial court acting as guard Murcia three days later.

Subsequently, through the analysis of biological samples collected at the scene and its contrast with the DNA databases, we have determined that samples collected under the detainee, who is credited by both the commission of three rape crimes.

The research was conducted by the Judicial Police Provincial Brigades and Police Science Murcia.
