The famous film composer Roque Baños is the director of the International Orchestra at the XXX International Festival of Youth Orchestras (FIOJ), organized by the University of Murcia in different locations in the region of 11 to 16 April.
One more year, young musicians from different countries to bring classical music to the public, with special emphasis on outdoor auditions, to be held at different venues in the city of Murcia, Plaza de Santo Domingo, Plaza de la Cruz, Avenue Freedom and University Square.
The Eagles Spain Square, the Cultural Center of Cartagena Luzzy Ramón Alonso and Cajamurcia auditorium will host performances of Lorca and Murcia Regional Auditorium, El Corte Ingles and the churches of San Lorenzo and San Juan de Dios will also hosts concerts and auditions.
New in this edition, will participate Woodwind Quintet Xylos of Public Foundation Barenboim-Said Andaluza (Prince of Asturias Award for Concord 2002).
From outside the Region of Murcia, Strings will perform the Artic Norway and Sweden, the Czech Novomestsky, the Chamber Orchestra of Valencia Cordis music (composed by children), the Philharmonic Orchestra of the University of Alicante and the International Orchestra, formed by members of various orchestras involved and Jumillano led by Roque Baños.
Complete, the Youth Orchestra of the Region of Murcia, the Chamber Orchestra of University of Murcia, the Orchestra of the Conservatory of Music in Cartagena, the Orchestra of the Music Conservatory of Murcia, the String Orchestra of the Conservatory of Music Lorca, the Choir of the University of Murcia, the Coral Reef Discantus and Molina de Segura.
FIOJ artistic director, José Antonio Clemente Buhlal, highlighted in the presentation ceremony, held at the Rector of the University, that this Festival is the only one of the Murcia region belonging to the Spanish Association of Classical Music Festivals .
During the event, also gave the prize in FIOJ poster design, which went to Inmaculada Escudero Martínez.
Intervened in the presentation Minister of Culture and Tourism, Pedro Alberto Cruz, who said the FIOJ "is perhaps the activity of those organized by the University of Murcia, more social dimension" and that "uses music to create an exchange of knowledge and experiences. "
For its part, the chancellor of the University of Murcia, José Antonio Cobacho showed the pride of the educational institution to meet thirty editions of the Festival and thanked the organizations and corporate partners support the organization.
