The old building will become a modern municipal and cultural space.
The Mayor, Miguel Ángel Cámara, visited the rehabilitation of the municipal center integral García Alix, located in this neighborhood, an infrastructure that soon all will enjoy Murcia, which includes the restoration of part of one of the most emblematic buildings San Antolin.
The project is adapting the existing building to house various municipal social and cultural.
The building, municipal ownership is protected, so we have to keep the walls and basic structure.
The rehabilitation works involve the demolition of the building that is not protected to install a new structure that fits its new use.
In particular, it is building an assembly hall, a reading room, classrooms, offices for the Municipal and District and other rooms for social purposes.
It is planned to include in a gym with changing units in the lower ground floor.
The planned investment of 1.7 billion euros and the works have been employed about 50 people for 8 months.
