Activities Education Association are for children under 6 years of age
Councillors Staff and Social Services and Fulgencio Megía Pilar Cervantes, respectively, this morning visited the Infant School site EDUCA for work carried out by association with needy children.
This partnership stems from an initiative of a group of mothers who in 1992 raised the need for their children in an educational environment while they work or seeking work.
Since then remain active, having overcome persistent difficulties in regard to funding and continuity of the board and the education team of the Centre, located in the neighborhood of the Holy Spirit Espinardo.
Direct recipients of the draft Children's School are between 40 and 50 children aged between eight months and 3 years old, growing to 6 years in summer school.
Most of them belong to families with high risk of social exclusion.
Also directed to their parents, and that the association arises maintains direct contact with them, advising and encouraging them in educational aspects related to the education of their children.
During the month of July developing a summer school on the premises of Education Infant School, filling the void that occurs during the summer and that had been translated into a clear worsening of living conditions of some children, doing fun activities -education and addressing the interests and ages of children, giving priority to water play.
The Summer School is addressed to some 50 children aged between 1 and 6 years.
The trajectory of Education Association work reflects his involvement and social commitment to the neediest people in the neighborhood "The Holy Spirit" and in particular sectors of the population of 8 months to 3 years, assuming a benchmark for the quarter and a resource of great value to its population, like the Center for Social Services.
The City Council on a proposal from the Department of Health and Human Services recently approved the renewal of the cooperation agreement it has with that entity, and a grant of the names of 59,000 euros for maintaining its activity.
