The Councillor for Environment and Urban Quality, Adela Martinez-Cache, yesterday inaugurated the conference to exchange experiences "Green Schools in the municipality of Murcia: working towards sustainability", which will be closed this afternoon by the mayor of Education and Youth Lola Sánchez (at 20 pm in the Lecture Hall of the City Hall Annex building).

Martínez-Cache in his speech announced the creation of the municipal Green Schools whose main objective is to streamline educational processes directed towards sustainability and training of the educational community by establishing stable environmental committees, leading to a network for exchange of experiences (Green Schools Forum) and promoting grants and information.
Also on the Environment website will create a special Green Schools to present the experiences of each school, foster a space for communication, discussion and exchange of experiences and promote and encourage the involvement of the entire educational community as well as environment.
The Green Schools Program, which is in operation for ten years, seeks to help improve the environmental quality of schools and their surroundings creating learning spaces for sustainable development.
The program also enhances the working relationship between members of the educational community and increase the involvement of each one of them in improving their daily environment.
Likewise, the Environmental Service offers continuity of such actions in future years through support and advice necessary.
