Román González and Antonio Moreno Valera Pascual of secondary education institutes Fleet and Alfonso X El Sabio, respectively, have won the Physics Olympiad is local phase, which awards were presented at the University of Murcia.
The second prizes were awarded to Ricardo Diaz Lopez of St. Bonaventure College, and Miguel Matias Garcia Monteagudo school, while third went to David Cano Lacárcel of Miguel de Cervantes Institute, and Rafael López Garrido, Vicente Medina high school.
These six qualifiers will represent the Region in the national phase of the Olympiad, which this year is celebrated at the University of Murcia on 7-10 April.
During the ceremony, held at the Faculty of Chemistry, the president of the organizing committee of the Olympics, the Royal Spanish Society of Physics, Maria Rosario Heras, gave an informative talk.
This competition, which coordinates the Region professor at the University of Murcia Antonio Guirao, has among its objectives to promote the teaching of physics among high school students.
