Mayor Meets Social Council Famdif / Cocemfe Murcia to continue to promote active social policies to improve the services they receive.
Awareness campaigns, transport aid, working arrangements and the accessibility of the tram are among the agreements reached with the Federation.
The Council, which comprises 17 associations, presented his report for 2010 and projects this year.
The Mayor, Miguel Ángel Cámara, this morning visited the headquarters of the Federation of Murcia to the Physically Disabled and / or Organic (Famdif / Cocemfe-Murcia) and exchanged views with members of the Social Council of this institution, body composed of 40 representatives from 17 associations.
The president of Famdif / Cocemfe-Murcia, Carmen Gil, has delivered to the Mayor's report on the actions taken by the Federation over the last year and forecasts for the present.
Famdif / Cocemfe-Murcia formed a non governmental, social, nonprofit, and declared of public utility.
It aims to serve the concerns of the associations of people with physical and / or organic in the Region of Murcia.
The Mayor pointed out that the collaboration of the Federation with the city of Murcia, in recent years, momentum has led to several initiatives to improve the quality of life of members of various associations that make up this institution.
In this regard, the Chamber has explained the agreement that allowed the districts of Murcia more accessible thanks to the removal of architectural barriers on 50 streets of the city, wiping out 250 points black.
It is interesting to note that, since 2005, Famdif is integrated into a municipal commission to control that works in Murcia compliant accessibility.
Employment and accessibility
The Mayor has insisted that, despite progress made, urgent need to continue betting on the gap between citizens, support those most in need and fight for full equality and integration.
The City Council, meeting this goal, gave the green light earlier this year an agreement to give employment to three persons with disabilities in order to promote employment for the full integration of this group.
These three young men who had done an internship at City Hall and had cleared an unpaid training period of 4 years.
Thanks to this agreement, these young people with disabilities can get your contract part-time work (5 hours) for one year, renewable for two more.
On the other hand, the Consistory also held meetings with Famdif / Cocemfe-Murcia to ensure accessibility of the new tram.
Thus, the 24 stops will incorporate accessibility criteria and the use of non-slip floor surface.
Many fruits also has School Awareness Campaign in schools in Murcia and in which each year involving thousands of students, who have passed the importance of equality and respect for others.
