The Mayor of Murcia and the Museum Board President Ramón Gaya, Miguel Angel House, this morning the balance of the year Gaya, a lengthy tribute to the illustrious painter Murcia upon completion of the first centenary of his birth, and pointed out that the author enjoyed during the lifetime of affection and gratitude of the city of his birth and appoint him, rightly and illusion, Favorite Son.
During the centennial celebration of eighteen exposures were made with 186,112 visitors, four exhibitions at the Museum with 18,896 visitors, twenty-five days of Ramón Gaya with 25 speakers and 1,125 attendees, with 895 listeners four concerts, three publications with 425 attendees and three other activities in which 100,360 people attended.
The Mayor thanked the support and encouragement Cajamurcia Foundation and president of the institution, Carlos Egea, critical to coordinate efforts with a common goal: to remember and to highlight the figure of the master of landscapes and portraits, long strokes and short blasts, vignettes and poems.
Similarly, shape, House has highlighted the efforts of those who worked to extol the figure of the author.
