The University of Murcia has patented an innovative environmental technology improves and becomes more durable and less costly irrigation facilities existing underground, and also allow a great saving of water.
This device, which is the third patent Professor Pedro Antonio Garcia Ruiz on the protection of underground irrigation pipes, is the placement of an element at the entrance of the irrigation system, which transmits inhibitors of root growth, preventing a continuous the roots clog the holes in the emitters.
This new root protection technology saves a ton of water, in addition to less costly and prolong the life of the irrigation facilities.
The device patented by Professor Garcia-Ruiz can be manufactured in small and applied to existing facilities, also ensuring no intrusion of roots during periods of more than 10 years without recharge the device.
It is valid for full irrigation lines and can be deployed easily in big areas, like small green spaces, which means a great advance over previously known procedures, which require the installation of many new feeders as special water outlets exist.
In the development of a patent the company has collaborated Murcian Irrigation Agricultural Trade.
