The Governing Board approved the contract specifications for servicing these markets
To continue the constant improvement and adaptation of the market hall of the municipality, the Board of Governors has approved in its session today the contract specifications for service and maintenance of these eight markets.
This statement is intended that the eight markets in the municipality (Pool, Cabeza de Torres, El Carmen, Espinardo, Saavedra Fajardo, San Andres, Veronicas and Vistabella) to function properly, normally open to the public and provide the best services supply to the population.
The specification states that make all repairs, replacement, replacement or maintenance necessary to keep buildings in good condition lots of supplies, for a maximum of 50,862 euros for the year 2011.
The work will be plumbing, carpentry, locksmith, masonry, painting, being the deadline for the completion of ordinary work orders will be 3 days.
If urgent action, the period is 24 hours.
In case of very urgent requests, the response will be immediate.
All these food markets are located in buildings built mostly old, among them the Market of Veronicas, located in the Plano de San Francisco, which is a historic building designed by architect Pedro Cerdan, executed in the early XX, and is protected by the Special Plan of Historic Murcia and cataloged with the number 2 ED-047, grade 2-Rehabilitation protection.
Due to the constant use of these facilities, both citizens and the vendors themselves, these installations require permanent care, making repairs and constant adaptation in order to achieve optimal maintenance and to allow for adaptation to new sales techniques.
Thus, during the last four years, the market hall has received an investment amounting to 663,000 euros.
Among the works that have taken place in recent months highlights the refurbishment of the market fish stalls of El Carmen, the male toilets Saavedra Fajardo market, the market access or remodeling Veronicas and painted Market Cabezo de Torres.
