The doctoral dissertation at the University of Murcia by Antonio Ruiz Martinez has proposed a number of methods to improve the security of payments made by users over the Internet.
Ruiz Martinez, a member of the research group Intelligent Systems and Telematics, Faculty of Informatics, University of Murcia, says in his study that the system could be applied to any browser or operating system and that "the standardization of how to carry payment out would generate more confidence in customers. "
This research has also devised a program to verify the payments made with current chip cards (such as bank cards and the new DNI), which would save businesses the machine is now required to use the electronic purse.
With both innovations, the user gains in convenience and the information that travels on the network to make the payment be sent faster and more securely.
The thesis, which received excellent cum laude, was conducted by Professor Antonio Gómez Skarmeta and Óscar Cánovas Reverte.
