The research group Vision Sciences, University of Murcia Norberto López Gil, in collaboration with Robert Montes-Mico, University of Valencia, has developed a patent for creating acromatizadora the first intraocular lens capable of correcting the aberration human eye color.
To correct the chromatic aberration of the eye, which is a limiting factor for the vision to produce a separation of white light in each color component, the lens combines a refractive aspheric surface and a diffractive, which improves the optical quality of that.
The removal of this aberration improves contrast of the image with an effect of increased contrast sensitivity and visual acuity of patients, and correct the corneal spherical aberration of the eye through the aspheric lens design.
As an innovation, the lens can create a new standard of quality in monofocal intraocular lens technology and represents a step in the design of artificial eyes get better.
