The Minister of Social Policy, Women and Migration, Joaquín Bascuñana shared this morning with residents and staff of the residence El Amparo, El Verdolay (Murcia) during the events planned to celebrate the twenty-sixth anniversary of the foundation of the center.
The residence has a total of 49 beds for residents, of which the Department has arranged 31 for people over 65 with care needs for daily living and nursing services, since many of them lack mobility or are Alzheimer's and other mental ailments.
Responsible for Social Policy noted that the Ministry's relationship with El Amparo "began in 1998, when it signed an agreement with Caritas St. Francis Xavier Parish, for the reservation of 15 residential places. Since then we have maintained and strengthened that relationship and now are 31 the agreed deadline. "
During the events of today, which included attendance at a funeral Mass, a tour of the facilities and a snack with residents and staff, the Minister also visited the refurbishment works recently carried out outside the center.
