A dissertation on the cultural construction of childbirth as women abaraneras, presented at the University of Murcia, has won the "Victoria Kent, who calls the University of Manchester and will be delivered on 8 March on the occasion of the Day Working Women.
The author of this research is Maria de los Angeles Castro Molina, Ph.D., University of Murcia and nurse specialist in Obstetrics and Gynecology and Professor of Obstetric-Gynecologic Teaching Unit.
The jury which will award the prize has been especially since the thesis is a contribution to anthropology and that it gives voice to a group of women who lived at his hospital during the Spanish Civil War.
Some of them offer their testimonies about the work, housekeeping, marriage, family, pregnancy, childbirth and postpartum.
The directors of the thesis were Maria Emilia Martinez Roche, Professor of Nursing and Fina Antón, Professor, Department of Philosophy.
