The secretary general of the Ministry of Agriculture and Water, Francisco Moreno, today opened the exhibition 'Landscape.
UM versus Espuña 'at the Museum of the University of Murcia, located in the old artillery barracks, where he remained until January 28, completing his tour of various locations in the region.
This exhibition is a collaboration initiated in 2007 between the General Directorate of Natural Heritage and the subject Biodiversity and Landscape, Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Murcia, in order to initiate students, future artists, knowledge of the natural values of this region.
The project consists of two lines: the line of botanical illustration is intended to open a possible avenue of work students, for which it is necessary to know the basics of vegetable and scientific illustration, as well as the previous steps work documentary.
In line dedicated to protected natural areas staff of the Directorate General provides guidance to teachers and students of the subject of landscape in their journey for such spaces and transmits them different knowledge of their flora, fauna, geology and history.
With this information, the paintings becomes more interesting, it gives meaning and can act as a communicator and a sensitizer.
As an exercise in order to subject the students perform a piece inspired by the places they have visited.
In 2008, the model was the Regional Park of Cabo Cope-Calnegre and in 2009 Calblanque Regional Park.

UM versus Espuña 'is curated by faculty of the University of Murcia, María Victoria Sánchez and Antonio García, and formed part of activities marking the International Year of Biodiversity organized by the Ministry of Agriculture and Water.
As in previous editions Cajamurcia Foundation collaborated on this project with six of their classrooms to present the work culture and also financed the exhibition catalog, which compiles the works on display while incorporating different ideas on biodiversity conservation and landscape.
The exhibition remained 5 to July 25, 2010 in San Pedro del Pinatar, from 1 to September 15, Torre Pacheco from 17 to 30 September in Jumilla, from 4 to 22 October in Caravaca de la Cruz, 5 November 26th Cehegín and 9 to 23 December in Cieza.
