The Autonomous Region has awarded the contract for upgrading the road connecting the variation of the roundabout Alquerías to Los Ramos (RM-303), leading to improved comfort and road safety in more than 3.5 million movements of vehicles registered annually.
The Director of Roads, Jose Guijarro, said the work that a company run Murcia, "will be held on four miles of this road. This is one of the main lines of communication from the regional capital, due to proximity to Murcia and its role as a north-south axis of the municipality. "
He added Guijarro, this road "is a priority route for connecting the Zeneta-San Javier motorway and A-7, which connects the region with the neighboring province of Alicante."
The responsible regional explained that the works consist of resurfacing, the adequacy of drainage pipes, road marking and placement of the corresponding reflector beacon with 'cat eye'.
This will improve the visibility along the entire route during the night, which has the highest road accident rate.
These actions are among the main objectives of the Road Safety plan promoted by the regional government to reduce accidents.
"With the implementation of this action will result, in addition to a more agile movements, safe and comfortable environment in the eastern city of Murcia, improved connections with neighboring municipalities," the director general.
