State Funds 2009 and 2010 have enabled the construction of bicycle paths 19 in the Region of Murcia for an amount of 29 million euros
The Secretary of State for Regional Cooperation, Gaspar Zarrías, and the government delegate in Murcia, Rafael González Tovar, have come this morning a section of bike path made in the Segura River Mota left by the city of Murcia, with funding from State Fund for Employment and Local Sustainability 2010.
With a length of 12.7 km, this new cycle is starting point in bridge Fica Murcia and ends in Beniel, coinciding with the boundary of the municipality and the region.
Along the way, most of which takes place on the river left Mota by the cession of the Segura basin, through the hamlets of Bacons Bridge, Llano de Brujas, Santa Cruz, Stables and El Raal.
The work includes a bike lane paved with asphalt and another track parallel pedestrian and lighting and signage along it.
As a novelty, has six video cameras connected to the local police and allow for constant vigilance along the rail.
To this is added the placement throughout the course of 24 units, bicycle parking, and five connections that provide access from the bike path the hamlets by the lag.
In total, this project has required an investment of 1.3 million euros, financed entirely by the Government of Spain under the State Fund, 2010.
Zarrías explained that this is an important project for the improvement of infrastructure and urban facilities, which in this case has the potential to promote the sport, and provide a healthy entertainment alternative to the public.
Bike lanes in the municipality of Murcia
The State Fund of 2009 also allowed the construction of a bike path of 17 km length along the left bank of the river Segura, in the section between corner and Contraparada Beniscornia and the lighting of the section between the and the said parish levee, where it runs the lanes.
These actions amounted to an investment of 2.4 billion euros and were made possible by the permission of the Hydrographic Confederation of Segura, who has title to the land occupied.
To this is added a third track bike this year funded by the Fund in 2010, with a length of 2.1 km and runs between Murcia Regional Library and the hamlet of Zarandona and represents an investment of 370,000 euros .
Therefore, the municipality of Murcia currently has three new bicycle lanes built under the Plan E, 2009 and 2010, involving a total of over 30 route miles, and have made a total investment of 4 million euros.
19 new bike lanes built with funds from Plan E
The Secretary of State for Regional Cooperation has explained that by State Funds, 2009 and 2010 the Government of Spain, are being built in the Region of Murcia 19 new lanes, with an investment exceeding 29 million euros, whose construction generated 534 new jobs.
These lanes have been constructed in the municipalities of Abarán, Bullas, Cartagena, Ceuta, Fortuna, Fuente Alamo Jumilla, Murcia, Pliego, Totana, La Union and Yecla.
In many cases these projects have been complemented with other urban development, as new lighting and street furniture, sidewalks and paving shift.
Gaspar Zarrías stressed that these actions are contributing decisively to create a new culture of mobility in the Region of Murcia, and have added value because they are creating new jobs is a priority that the Government of Spain was raised in Plan E.
