Director of Language Services at the University of Murcia, Professor Pilar Candela, will be the Spanish representative in the Academic Council of the International Certification System of Spanish as a Foreign Language (SICELE).
The SICELE is a system involving 137 universities in Spain and Latin America and advocates the Cervantes Institute to regulate and ensure the quality of teaching, learning and certification in Spanish for those who do not have as their first language.
This system will ensure the quality of Spanish exams sponsored by the participating academic institutions.
Candela Pilar's appointment came at the Academic Council meeting, held at the National University of Cuyo in Mendoza (Argentina).
