The collection of 37 ceramics will be open until March 13
Councilwoman Barnuevo Fatima opened last night in the exhibition "Aurelio.
Pottery 'to the City Museum wants to commemorate the tenth anniversary of his death, alhameño.
This exhibition, which will be open until March 13, includes a total of 37 pieces of pottery as decoration pieces are installed in conventional and pharmacy jars, pitchers, jugs, oil, bowls or sources.
They are shaped floral, geometric, human, and even bullfighting.
The Museum of the City, true to its line of exposing little-known collections, has selected some of the work of Aurelio, just shown and less studied: its pottery, a work which, as it analyzes the poet José Luis Martínez Valero in the catalog of the sample, binds directly to the roots of his homeland - Guadalentín Valley-with clay and pottery, speaking the ancient craft from his pictorial vision.
, Martinez Valero writes that "because feel free, Aurelio, explore new territories and return to the land and the land became mud"
In one of his last interviews, Aurelio said of his character that "a man is simple and normal" as a painter whose only ambition is "to have a valid work."
In the catalog Martinez Valero added that "the decoration was done with pigments in which primary colors predominate, and the figures represent traditional elements with a clear scale: vegetables, anthropomorphic, animals and urban. In all there is a tendency to simplification a search of the essence, a schematic that matches the paintings. It happens that there is a deep intent, perhaps religious. "
The exhibition can be visited from Tuesday to Saturday from 10 to 14 and from 17 to 20 hours and on Sundays from 11 to 14 hours.
