The Town Council allocates EUR 72,500 to seven projects for cooperation of NGOs in the municipality (15/12/2010)

The aid is intended for health programs and to alleviate the cholera epidemic in Haiti

Murcia City Council spends around 72,500 euros to finance development cooperation projects carried out by seven NGOs in the municipality.

This grant for the implementation of a Transportable Eye Hospital for Africa, which is already in the country and has developed "Blue in Action ', funding for' Community Development Institute" to promote and Promotion Centre empowerment of marginalized young women in Cameroon, 'Engineers without Borders', to carry out the hydro-sanitary program in the Kigoma Rural District in Tanzania, "Volunteers Without Borders" to boost the agricultural service center for the small farmer in Costa Central Peru, "Fire in Action 'to allocate humanitarian aid to alleviate the cholera epidemic in Haiti, and' Spanish Red Cross Murcia 'and' Caritas Diocesan Murcia '.

In the past four years, the City of Murcia, through the Department of Employment, Civil Protection and Development Cooperation, who heads Hontoria Beatriz has funded 82 projects of cooperation of NGO-s by 66 initiatives in 76 countries.
