This is the first building designed and built stage thinking about the children, without exception resulting from a disability, and whose creation has been secured after the project Pupaclown, Hospital Clown Arrixaca developed in children and young patients.
The representation of the show "Circus of the Snake Woman", by Ananda Dansa company, has served to inaugurate the new center.
Besides the president and vice president of the association, Pepa Astillero and Juan Pedro Romea, attended the event the Mayor, Miguel Angel House, the Minister of Culture and Tourism, Pedro Alberto Cruz, and Rafael Gomez and Fatima council Barnuevo.
The cost of the center, both for construction and equipment, has exceeded 2.4 million euros, financed by the city of Murcia, the region and the CajaMurcia Foundation, in addition to the contributions of the association.
It will now offer shows for children and young people in a barrier-free environment, allowing the assistance and the integration of children with disabilities or consequences of disease and some without, in a standardized environment.
The building, designed by architect Vicente Martínez Gadea, occupies a plot of 971 square meters, valued at 584,000 euros, which was ceded by the City for this purpose.
Located on Calle Federico García Lorca, has a first floor, where we find the dressing rooms, storage rooms and technical control booths and audio description for blind and translation simultaneously, low-to a room with capacity for 370 people and spaces for children Bedridden and wheelchair adapted to disability clubhouse and lockers, and the basement, where there are 5 workshops, offices and show rooms for babies up to 50 people.
As for technical equipment, the center has all the elements necessary for its stagings, and a special technical equipment for the disabled to guarantee that anyone with vision or hearing problems can follow a performance, attend a workshop or talk.
To this end, we have built a system of infrared-based audio description for visually impaired, and a magnetic induction loop which eliminates interference with standard hearing aids and cochlear implants.
In addition to other contents, the center has two unique initiatives: a school of clowns and a bank of solidarity, which enables people who wish to contribute by buying more tickets which are to be used, creating a reserve that will attend functions children from disadvantaged families, or a workshop expenses, etc..
