The secretary general of the Ministry of Universities and Research Company, Antonio Sanchez-Solis, accompanied by the mayor of Murcia, Miguel Ángel Cámara today opened the XXVI Trade Show and Christmas Crafts, installed in the Paseo Alfonso X El Sabio de Murcia until on 5 January.
The opening of this exhibition "is the start of the holiday business and becomes the center of the city into a tourist attraction, while streamlining the regional arts and crafts sector. And with his 26-year history, has become a tradition deeply rooted in society and an example for other cities to craft fairs open to the public like, "said Sanchez-Solis.
The main novelty of this edition is in the new models and designs of products on offer, through the application of technological innovation to the crafts sector.
The exhibition also provides the necessary infrastructure artisans to market their products, identified with the brand Crafts Murcia Region, "which assures consumers they are buying products made by skilled craftsmen in the region," he added.
The fair will open its booth from 11:00 to 14:00 and 17:00 to 21:00 hours and will include the participation of 93 artisans, among whom are 20 traditional nativity scenes in clay, which appear to visitors their latest creations focused on the upcoming holiday season.
They are joined by two NGOs, the Association of Families and Mental Illness (AFES) and Caritas, which sell items made by them to raise funds.
In addition to the nativity scenes, exhibit and other artisans sell their products for 31 different trades, including those who are potters, potters, glassblowers, painters, silversmiths, toys, tailors, weavers, carpenters, JEWELERS, hat, leather, among others.
The product offering of the fair is complete with natural toiletries and food products, such as natural preserves, pastry and confectionery, wines, cheeses, sausages, marzipan and honey.
This initiative, organized by the Ministry through the Directorate General of Commerce and Handicrafts, in collaboration with the Municipality of Murcia, is part of the Plan to Promote Retail, and its purpose is to provide the artisans of the region's infrastructure to market its range of branded products identified Crafts Murcia, which is a guarantee for consumers to purchase products made in the Region craftsmanship.
