The Minister of Social Policy, Women and Migration, Joaquín Bascuñana, together with the managing director of IMAS, Isabel Sola, today visited the center Churra people with disabilities, which held an open day.
Bascuñana and Sola, with the center's director, Florentina Lopez, toured the various units of the complex, which has organized activities such as a photo exhibition on the history of the place, a sample of work done in workshops, exhibitions balloon twisting and makeup, an exhibition of technical aids and a workshop horses.
Throughout the day are expected to attend about 80 people, among whom are residents of the hamlet of Churra Murcia who will be informed about the activity for persons with disabilities that takes place in the center.
The venue, which has an area of 9,000 square meters, including gardens, can accommodate 100 beds and has 139 employees.
On 16 September, the president of the Community, Ramón Luis Valcárcel, inaugurated the new building, the result of the expansion of old facilities.
This complex is currently occupied by 74 people in residential care system and eight in solitary day center.

Most are high-dependency, with a mean age of 43.5 years.
Multitude of services
In the facilities offer basic accommodation, care (grooming, dressing, eating), dining room, laundry and sewing, transportation and day care center.
The latter is intended for users who can stay in their homes.
Also offer specialized services such as health care (diabetes, hypertension, obesity, epilepsy), psychology (stimulation, workshops, gymnastics) and social (social integration and relationship with the family) and physical therapy (maintenance of mobility and postural control).
The families are organized in the Association of Parents and Families, which assists in the implementation of activities.
In addition, through the Governing Board and together with the Administration, are also collaborating on school management.
