The rector of the University of Murcia, José Antonio Cobacho, signed a collaboration agreement with the Ministry of Defense to establish a Chair of Naval History, in a ceremony that was held at the Naval Museum of Madrid (Headquarters of the Navy .)
This agreement aims to promote and disseminate knowledge of history, heritage and maritime culture through the first Chair in Naval History institutional.
The agreement provides for the future implementation of a graduate in Naval History, who taught at the University of Murcia in cooperation with the Navy.
The text also signed takes the training activities, research and innovation on the history and naval heritage, as well as its dissemination through publications, conferences, seminars, workshops, roundtables, exhibitions and cultural initiatives.
After the signing, Admiral Authority director Naval History and Culture, Gonzalo Rodriguez Gonzalez-Aller, said "the joint work of both institutions will allow us to provide a solid foundation on which you can perform a more accurate review some of the events of naval history. "
For its part, the rector, José Antonio Cobacho, said "the lecture will be an excellent platform to capitalize on the current design of the European Higher Education Area and the new Law on Military Education," noting the possibility of introducing a postgraduate on naval history.
