Izquierda Unida de Murcia is holding meetings with supporters, members, people involved in various subjects and social organizations to develop the program that will concur to the municipal elections of 2011.
These meetings will focus on the core program adopted at the UI last municipal assembly, who are fighting the economic crisis and the defense of the needy, the recovery of the sense of the living city, and participatory democracy.
This process includes a first part of meetings with citizens, assigned and understood in such areas as social policy and economics, and a second in which will be held meetings with neighborhood organizations, unions and environmentalists, as well as visits to neighborhoods and districts of the municipality.
According to the IU candidate for mayor of the municipality, Esther Herguedas, "there is a series of promises as part of a campaign, but a way of taking our commitment to citizenship and to assure that we will do everything possible to comply with each of the initiatives listed.
