Infante pool opens its doors with a thermal solar power facility completely renovated.
The works have been a joint project of the Department of Sports, headed by Miguel Cascales, and the Department of Employment, Civil Protection and Development Cooperation, who heads Beatriz Hontoria, conducted by the students of employment workshop Cofrisol IV and V Employment Service.
The installation of solar energy is on the cover of the pool pavilion and consists of 12 batteries with 70 solar thermal collectors for low temperature hot water heating (heated pool and showers).
The catchment area is 115m2.
With the unique use of solar energy can provide hot water for 187 showers a day, saving 10,095 liters of diesel per year and avoid releasing to the atmosphere 15,305 meters cubic of CO2 per year.
The old installation of solar thermal pool was 20 and was not in operation.
Workshop students employment Cofrisol IV began the work of dismantling the existing solar collectors, cleaning and replacement of damaged items, removing the battery sensors, hydraulic breaks repairing and replacing the insulation.
The workshop students Cofrisol V, after receiving initial training, performed the recalculation and reconsideration of the solar heating system, replacing the hydraulic assembly interconnecting the solar collectors, technical improvements, installing copper pipes, etc.
The 70 connectors have been assembled, and tested the connections and restarted the installation in good condition.
This project has worked eight students, one of them a woman, confirming the incorporation of women into traditionally male professions.
Students who have participated in this project have received training module III thermal solar energy, given by the city of Murcia, approved by the SEF in the region and funded by the EU.
In addition, students have worked Climate.
