The city of Murcia is preparing to celebrate the XX National Band Contest Music "Ciudad de Murcia", organized by the Department of Popular Culture Festivals and the City of Murcia, directed by Rafael Gómez, in collaboration with the Federation of Bands Region of Murcia.

The National Band Contest Music "Ciudad de Murcia" will be held on 4 and 5 December, in the Municipal Auditorium in La Alberca, for the bands second section, and the Auditorium and Congress Center in the Region of Murcia "Victor Villegas" for the bands first section.

Both will take place at 18 hours.

The contest "Ciudad de Murcia" is a project with a greater resonance in the field bandístico nationwide, and the proof is the high number of requests for participation that we receive from different parts of Spain: Galicia, Andalusia, Valencia and Castilla La Mancha, in addition to our region of Murcia.

The event is one of the most important (along with international and national Valencia Leganés) of the country, due greatly to the rigor and seriousness of the work involved in the technical organization of the Federation itself Bands in the Region of Murcia as well as due to the presence each year by a jury of a very high level of musicianship, in all its aspects.

That is why the musical groups, year after year, do not hesitate to submit their registration to participate.

Murcia City Council, through the Department of Festivals and Popular Culture, in order to strengthen the culture and the artistic value of music, performed throughout the year various municipal programs with bands.

This cultural strategy has a multiple purpose: the promotion of culture in the town, forming a cultural and leisure offer, promotion and support of our community associations, offer the bands a framework in which to display work while you serve immediate objectives and encouragement for the day to day, both musicians, the director and directives.

Participation is also important for the bands it is a way to see the musical level found in the measured associations.

Some significant data

The number of musicians per band in each section will, in the first section, 71 to 90 musicians (including contributions to a maximum of six performers).

The maximum number of string instruments in the band template shall be nine.

In the second section, the number will be 51 to 70 musicians (including contributions to a maximum of six performers).

The maximum number of string instruments in the band template shall be seven.
