The drinking and driving are two things that should never occur together, or driving a car or even a moped.
The City, through the Department of Safety and Traffic, is launching a campaign aimed at students Murcia 4 º ESO to feel firsthand the effects of drunken driving.
The explanation is not theoretical, but practical and it will have special glasses that reproduce the conditions under which driving after drinking.
Early in the experience have been graduate students of IES Cascales this morning have gone to the Plaza Belluga to implement the campaign.
In the presence of the Mayor, Miguel Ángel Cámara, and Alderman and Traffic Safety, Nuria Fuentes, students, wearing special lenses have made a tour in an area of 50 meters and slalom between cones to test directly in what state drive after drinking alcohol.
Were also subjected to other tests, to pencils, one by one, into a pen, walk a straight line and launching balls.
The stars of today were the students of the IES Graduate Cascales, but open to all who want it.
For this reason, Local Police are getting in touch with schools to organize the same experience in school grounds.
The Mayor, Miguel Ángel Cámara, this morning attended the public presentation of this prevention campaign for responsible driving designed especially for children, precisely because different studies indicate that the onset of alcohol consumption occurs around age 14.
At that age, also are allowed to drive scooters.
The risk of accidents multiplies
Driving under the influence of these drinks implies a high risk of an accident, why the City continues its support line prevention among adolescents and youth.
The risk of a fatal accident is multiplied by 2 with a rate of 0.5 g / l for 10 with 0.8 g / l, and 35 with 1.2 g / l for 80 with 2.0 g / l.
Depending on the different rates of intake, the effects of alcohol on driving are that:
- Between 0.3 or 0.5 grams of alcohol per liter of blood.
Top of euphoria.
The driver takes unusual risks.
Light vision disorders.
The estimation of distance is altered, which implies danger to pass.
- Between 0.5 and 0.8 g / l .- The longer reaction time.
Lateral visual impairment: the driver has difficulty distinguishing signs, pedestrians want to cross and traffic on cross streets.
- From 0.8 g/l.- difficulty making decisions and adapt to driving conditions.
Coordination and synchronization of movements are no longer controlled.
Local police have made since January to October this year a total of 13,046 breath tests to drivers of which 1255 were positive, with 1163 men and 92 women.
