Las fiestas de San Eloy, organized by students of art history at the University in memory of the patron saint of goldsmiths, will start tomorrow, day 18, with the start of a course on the gold to be held at the Museum of Fine Arts Murcia.
The presentation of the course, which starts at 16:00 pm, will be given by Professor Jesús Rivas, recovered a few years ago this holiday season, to be followed by a lecture by jeweler Jose Joaquin del Campo on the jewelry today.
The morning session also included a lecture by Professor Maria Elena Conde Guerri on the imperial pomp and jewelry.
The course will continue the next few days with the analysis of issues such as the silver of the cathedrals, the National Museum of Decorative Arts and silversmiths' guild and the festival, among others.
The restored San Eloy procession will be held on November 25, leaving from the Merced campus to get to the church of San Bartolomé, where they worship an image of San Francisco Eloy Salzillo work.
