Convalescence The building has welcomed today the presentation of credentials to teachers at the University of Murcia, which has coordinated grant projects Cajamar educational institution and to improve the quality of life in less developed countries.
For this first edition, has allocated a total grant of 16,000 euros for six projects in development cooperation, selected among the 24 that were presented.
Within a category, received the credentials of teachers Alberto Cuesta Peñafiel, the Faculty of Biology, and María Gómez Gómez, the Faculty of Chemistry, for work on the improvement of indigenous species for aquaculture in Algeria and another about the development of environmental technologies and craft in Guatemala, respectively.
Have also benefited in the same category as the professor of the Faculty of Economics and Business Eugenio José Sánchez Alcázar, a project of setting up a thematic network among universities in Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean, and Bas Encarnación Peña, faculty of Education, including one on gender and education of disadvantaged groups.
Also recognized the project María Dolores López Martínez, the Faculty of Education, on art therapy for the construction of territories for peace in schools in the canton of Cuenca, and Micaela Romero of Tudela, the Faculty of Economy concerning college awareness in a globalized world.
The event was chaired by the rector of the University, José Antonio Cobacho, who said that universities are very much for the cooperation and development, and "Initiatives like this prove it."
Acknowledged the support of Cajamar, whose regional director in Murcia, Bartholomew Survivor, encouraged the University of Murcia in the task of transferring knowledge and promoting development in less developed countries.
The ceremony was also attended by the Vice Rector of International Relations and Innovation, Pilar Arnaiz, and the head of International Relations, Matías Balibrea, among other academic positions.
