Murcia University will provide assistance to the Spanish Federation for Rare Diseases in promoting research that contributes to the fight against them, according to the agreements signed today in Convalescence by this educational institution and this organization.
At the signing ceremony of the first framework agreement, the delegate said Federation of Murcia, Juan Carrion Tudela, has indicated that this entity includes nearly two hundred associations in Spain, adding that in the Region of Murcia are than 85,000 patients suffering from these diseases.
Carrion also noted that the projects under way include the approach of the situation faced by these patients to university students, especially, Medicine and Social Work, to have a better understanding of it.
"We are also interested in starting next year, he has said a master in rare diseases so that participants can receive specific training in this field."
The second collaboration agreement was signed with the Association of Rare Diseases Genes D'Totana, chaired Naca Eulalia Pérez de Tudela, whose members represent more than one hundred of these ailments.
The dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Joaquín García-Tin, said that "the University of Murcia is in the service of society, so that these organizations offer our full support, because we know that rare diseases, by affecting a small sector of population, not getting the attention they deserve. "
