The first Centre for the Promotion of Personal Autonomy in Spain has opened its doors in Cabezo de Torres.
La Infanta Elena, accompanied by the President of the Autonomous Community, Ramón Luis Valcárcel, and the Mayor, Miguel Ángel Cámara, has officially opened the premises, which have been built on a plot of 2,340 square meters donated by the City Council, with a value of 260,000 euros.
This is the first center of its kind in Spain.
Promoted by Fundown, the building has a library, computer room, training room, leisure room and 12 sheltered housing.
The center has capacity to serve between 80 and 100 people with intellectual disabilities in day care and 36 in the service of personal empowerment at home.
