The Archaeological Museum of Murcia will host from December 9 'Tower of Babel: History and Myth', the first exhibition in Spain devoted to the famous Tower of Babel and the civilization that shaped more than 2,500 years ago.
"It is therefore a unique opportunity to see first hand the fascinating history of Babylon, Queen of the East" said CEO of Fine Arts and Cultural Heritage, Enrique Ujaldón, who presented the show together by the curator, John Luis Montero.
The Ministry of Culture and Tourism has organized this exhibition in order to raise awareness and renewed a certain idea about what was and Babylonian civilization historically accounted for the second and the first millennium BC, "said Ujaldón.
The exhibition will, among other pieces, with two large reliefs of a lion and a dragon from the Processional Way and the Ishtar Gate of Babylon, two works produced under the reign of Nebuchadnezzar II, the two pieces in the Pergamon Museum Berlin and on display for the first time in Spain.
You will present "The Beatus of Liebana" dated 970, from the Library of Valladolid.
Another of the attractions that the sample will be the first play of the Tower of Babel made by a Spanish team.

The exhibition will feature four audio-visual models and a program of educational activities for both schools and for weekend workshops.
All this is complemented with a series of conferences planned for March with the participation of scientists from the CISC, and universities.
