Plates installed cataloging trees for schoolchildren know the scientific name, common name, origin, global distribution, customs and curiosities
The Department of Education and Youth, directed by María Dolores Sánchez, launches a unique initiative with the aim of the school students learn the tree species that are in their playgrounds.
This is the cataloging of the trees so that the students know how to identify the vegetation around them plaques with scientific and common names, origin, global distribution and uses of these plants and curiosities, like a small botanical garden.
This initiative is intended that the school courtyards become meeting places of education, caring for its aesthetics and developing strategies for educational use.
These small botanical gardens are an ideal way to learn the contents of primary education, while allowing an integrated address environmental education.
Students made little pathways through the courtyards of schools to study the different species, allowing them to work as knowledge of the subjects, math, language arts and artistic expression.
They may also direct observations using the senses: smell, texture, color, sound of animals that have potential or that produced by wind, etc..
May take notes in situ of possible damages that are the same, indicating possible causes, taking photographs, essays about trees, etc.
Children reflect on solutions to preserve the environment and avoid potential environmental impacts.
