The 67'4% of companies in the Region of Murcia has university graduates among its staff, as reflected the "Study of Employers" presented today by the University of Murcia.
This analysis of the demand for university education in the region has been developed by the Center for Employment Guidance and Information (SIOC) of the institution, which has surveyed 802 firms with graduates hired staff.
The presence of university staff in enterprises, said Maribel Sanchez-Mora, Vice Rector of Students and Employment, in presenting the study developed in convalescence, is "relatively high, but better."
He added, graduates represent on average 18.3 of the total number of firms, although the more positive side, mostly in the region, the staff has left the University of Murcia.
As for qualifications with a greater presence in the business, highlight those most directly involved with the company, such as a diploma in Business Studies, BA in Economics and a diploma in Labour Relations.
Despite the negative predictions by the economic crisis, the results indicate an evolution of university staff in enterprises slightly more positive than for other non-university.
12% of companies surveyed expected to increase next year the staff of university graduates, compared to 10.5 to increase the non-university.
The vast majority, 78.1, estimated to remain.
The reasons, according to respondents, are to be found in the current economic uncertainty, which prevents the recruitment and promotes restructuring among staff.
Expected to differ, however, depending on the sector, maintaining the demand for university in the field of information technology and computing and a negative growth for the sectors of construction, finance and tourism and leisure.
Regarding the type of contract that companies typically offer college students, 70.7% is usually a temporary, indefinite 32.2% and 18.8% of practices.
In regard to the professional category, 53.2% of graduates works as a technician, followed by 45.1%, which makes and administrative.
With respect to the evaluation made of university education, a majority of employers (54.7%) highlights the level of acquired knowledge and career preparation, while the largest deficit of graduates put it at the lack of practice.
In the presentation ceremony, the rector, José Antonio Cobacho, said universities can not ignore the future employment of its graduates, so it warned that, in his view, excessively high degree map of the Spanish university system will have reviewed in the coming years to reduce the unemployment rate among university students.
For its part, the director general of the Autonomous Community Work, Fernando José Vélez, said the survey shows, above all, confidence of entrepreneurs in the training provided at the University of Murcia.
Also involved the general director of Universities and Scientific Policy, Eduardo Osuna, who noted the novelty of a study that focuses first on the needs of enterprises.
