The Municipal People's Party spokesman, Nuria Fuentes, presented on Thursday in plenary session, a motion to urge the National Government to put in place "immediately" the main post office in the Plaza Circular.
This motion has been submitted following the refusal of the Government Delegate in the region to give a specific date for its opening, after publicly demanding the council.
Thus, according to sources "in 2004, the government of Jose Maria Aznar approved an allocation of almost 3 million euros to the renovation and modernization of the Main Post Office, located in Plaza Circular of Murcia.'d Have to wait until 2008, no less than four years later, to finally begin the works. "
The spokesman added that "it was not until March this year 2010 when we started to get some news of the status and progress of the works: So, after almost two years of closing, we would announce the awaited opening and moving services and staff in the summer. However, at the end of June we breakfasted with the unpleasant news that there was no date of opening of the office without, of course, Mr. Representative of the Government, so talkative on other occasions, declared absolutely nothing about it "
"Unfortunately, Murcia are used to be, not oblivion, but pure and simple abuse by the Zapatero government's investment and infrastructure: lamentable examples of this are the Commissioner of the Barrio del Carmen, seven years later it is not open, the Civil Guard barracks in the Green and Torreagüera Sangonera, which although the municipality has given the floor for years has not been a single stone "
