The Mayor Chamber stresses the value of the craft to address the crisis and encourage small businesses Miguel Angel House welcomes the tenth edition of the Craftsman's Day with a tour of the booths set up in Santo Domingo. (22/10/2010)

The exhibition is open until next Sunday and includes an exhibition and various workshops for jewelry, silk yarn and esparto.

The Mayor of Murcia, Miguel Ángel Cámara, inaugurated this morning the Craft Fair 2010, which meets at the Plaza de Santo Domingo in the Avenida Alfonso X el Sabio various crafts workshops.

During the opening ceremony, the Mayor has been accompanied by the Minister of Universities, Companies and Research, Salvador Marín.

In organizing the fair has also participated Craftsmen Association CREA.

Mayor House has highlighted the great value of this large meeting, involving up to 35 artisans in a market town and services, such as Murcia, which will undoubtedly promote the maintenance of employment in these hard times of crisis.

The Mayor has made a tour of the Paseo Alfonso X the Wise, building to greet all merchants, whose products have been manufactured using traditional building processes.

Among the merchandise on display include the cribs, but they can also be food products, candy, cheese, etc .-, costumes, glass, ceramics, cosmetics and jewelry, among others.

The exhibition includes a total of 41 houses, two of whom are hosting an exhibition of handicrafts and two others have been equipped for live demonstrations and workshops.

During the day today held a demonstration in gold, by Jesús Gómez Alegría, and a glassmaking workshop, taught by Carmen Martínez Azorín which involved youth from 14 years.

Tomorrow, it will be the turn of cold porcelain and paintings, which also open to children from 8 years, and a bookbinding craft, taught by Arcadio Hernandez, with children aged 10 years.

Also on Sunday there will be two demonstrations of silk yarn, craft extinct in the region and work with esparto, a task in danger of extinction.
