The Urban Project for the redevelopment of neighborhood Espinardo Holy Spirit has taken a step further with the provisional approval by the Planning Department, a special plan that will increase green areas in the district, construction of new facilities and reduce the floor area.
This major project is coordinated by the Councillor for Social Welfare Policy and Equality, María del Carmen Pelegrin and Councillor for Culture and European Programmes, Fatima Barnuevo.
The Town Planning Councillor, Fernando Berberena, explained that the Special Plan shall be finally adopted by the Autonomous Community, and provides for the maintenance of existing buildings, the demolition of the municipal buildings are empty, and construction in these spaces a sports center and more green.
This ambitious plan, which will improve the quality of urban environment and living conditions of citizens in the area, rehabilitate the main public spaces in the neighborhood, will allow the expansion of the Center for Social Services and the creation of a center of artistic and creative as well as a cultural incubator.
The project will address measures to reorganize and improve the public spaces of the Holy Spirit and existing roads around the housing, a new distribution facilities and public buildings, landmarks, and a greater presence of green areas, recreational facilities and coexistence.
It intends to open this urban space to the rest of the city making it an attractive, safe and healthy.
