More than 300 people in the town benefit each year of a municipal program of training and promotion of people experiencing social difficulties, to the Department of Social Welfare and Equal Opportunities Policy, which directs Maria del Carmen Pelegrin.
These initiatives launched 12 years ago with the aim of improving the quality of life of these neighbors and reduce social exclusion through professional support, economic, education and training.
The Governing Board has approved an investment of 203,504 euros for training activities under this program.
It is a much needed initiative for people experiencing social exclusion and providing comprehensive and continuous training for participants to improve their academic skills, social skills and job skills, fostering their autonomy, people skills and participation in society.
Accompaniment Program for Social Inclusion has treated 325 people during 2009.
With 249 people have made a plan of intensive work to improve their socio-familial, and 159 people had access to training courses or find a job, thanks to the intervention of local professionals.
The courses are taught basic academic skills, social skills, manipulative skills and pre-employment skills.
In addition, 38 people will start an intensive training program is comprehensive and snipe at 210 euros per month.
During the summer the actions continue with the completion of a summer school involving 90 people, including women, men and children who participated in the courses.
The beneficiaries of this program are in neighborhoods and districts of the municipality, and are offered financial aid to cover their travel to the activities proposed.
