Murcia University opened today at the Merced campus, the stands at the Welcome Fair, which shows the new students all the services that the educational institution makes available and which this year focuses on the promotion of healthy lifestyle.
For the occasion, one of the stands offered food tasting "healthy", while the Service Quality and Food Safety taught the students who came daily nutritional needs of each.
The opening ceremony was chaired by the rector, José Antonio Cobacho, and the Vice Rector of Students and Employment, María Isabel Sánchez-Mora, who appreciated the efforts of the sponsors and staff of the University, "that enable students new-learn a little more this institution. "
A delegation led by Cobacho and formed by different academics and political representatives, including Councillor for Youth and Employment of the City of Murcia, María Dolores Sánchez, toured the various booths, which flattered the president with the objects that are delivered to students : pots, music CDs, shirts and information varies from the different departments of the university.
Another novelty of this edition was the public reading of "The City and the Dogs", the latest novel by Nobel laureate and honorary doctorates from the University Mario Vargas Llosa, an activity organized by the Cultural Service.
The first reading was the rector, who recalled that the University of Murcia in Spain was the first who made an honorary doctor Peruvian writer.
All participants received as a gift of reading a novel by Vargas Llosa.
In addition to stands of services and units of the University, could find other sponsors of the Welcome and radio stations that broadcast live part of their programs from the campus.
Furthermore, the midday news regional television channel to be performed from the Faculty of Law to support the candidature of the University of Murcia and the Polytechnic Campus of International Excellence.
