The word of the new Nobel laureate Mario Vargas Llosa will be extended by the Merced campus on Monday, October 18, due to be made public reading of "The City and the Dogs," his second novel and one of his works emblematic.
Homenaje a Mario Vargas Llosa: reading "The City and the Dogs" is the title of this activity that tries to honor the Nobel brand, Doctor Honoris Causa by the University of Murcia in 1995.
The reading will be within the Welcome Fair 2010 at the Campus of Mercy, dedicated this year to "Healthy Habits."
The activity will start at 11'15 am, shortly after the opening of the exhibition stands.
The first reading will be the Rector, José Antonio Cobacho, to be followed by Maria Isabel Sanchez-Mora, Vice Chancellor for Students and Employment and F.
Guillermo Díaz Baños, Vice Chancellor of University Extension and other teachers, administrative staff and services, students, and those who wish to join the initiative.
Participants receive a free novel by Vargas Llosa and another one of the winners of the Prix Vargas Llosa novel, which summons the University in conjunction with the CAM since 1996.
