Community support of 80 seats of the Day Centre in the districts of Beniaján Murcia and head of Torres and Barriomar (07/10/2010)

The Minister of Social Policy, Women and Migration, Joaquín Bascuñana, and the mayor of Murcia, Miguel Ángel Cámara, today signed an agreement whereby the Ministry EUR 672,000 funded 80 new positions for Day Centre for elderly and dependent Barriomar in the districts of Torres and Beniaján Cabezo.

Funding for the 80 seats will be held in two installments for 2010 and 2011.

Similarly, of the total EUR 672,000 to EUR 210,000 Barriomar intended, similar amount corresponds to Cabeza de Torres and, finally, to Beniaján the subsidy is of 252,000 euros.

In the case of 25 seats are subsidized Barriomar Service Day Centre to be developed at the municipal center of La Purisima.

25 squares will be put into service in Cabezo de Torres, in the Civic Center Calle Reina Sofia, and Beniaján will be 30 seats in the municipal center of the street Fabian Escribano.

The Day Center allows users of these places to receive basic services for physical care, maintenance or cleaning, as well as transportation and special services such as physical or psychological.

Also develop programs to improve the user skills in self-care, leisure and recreational activities and family care.

All activities and services in the Day Centre whose main goal is not only dependent elderly care, but improving their personal autonomy and therefore their quality of life.
