The Director of Fine Arts and Cultural Heritage, Enrique Ujaldón, today the image of Santa María La Real de Gracia of the Church of San Juan de Dios, after the rehabilitation process carried out during the last six months by the Center Restoration of the Region of Murcia.
The cost of the intervention on the work amounted to a total of 7,000 euros.
This is an image of an unknown author and clothing dating from the eighteenth century, which presented many problems of conservation and multiple pathologies.
Winders had an attack of wood decay, in addition to being very weak and poorly secured.
Policromia also had discoloration in some areas and dirt.
The intervention consisted of removing non-original elements, dismounting, cleaning, enchuletado, stuccoed and painted finish.
The Director of Fine Arts said that "the recovery of this image is inserted in the work from the Ministry are being made to recover both the Church of St. John of God as personal property in it."
The picture, which worships at the altar of the church of San Juan de Dios, hits the streets on October 16 in glory procession organized by the Brotherhood of Cristo de la Salud.
