"Occupational Therapy is the future, everyone is entitled to remain active with the appropriate intervention, and occupational therapists are that intervention," he assured the Director of Degree in Occupational Therapy at the Universidad Catolica San Antonio, M ª Angeles Jiménez, on the occasion International Day of Older Persons.
Significantly, the UCAM is the only university in the region of Murcia which imparts Degree in Occupational Therapy.
The director of the Degree in Occupational Therapy, has assured the occasion of this festival that occupational therapy can maintain the capabilities of older people, encouraging even new skills that they can still acquire with age.
"We encourage the autonomy of the elderly, for example at home, we work to maintain their independence with or without assistive devices," says Maria Angeles Jimenez, adding that one of the benefits of occupational therapy in this sector of the population is the quality of life that generates, "the end of any human being is to be treated as a person until the end of his days," also qualifies.
